Biography

We remember it like it was yesterday... November of 2005, the universe decided that Matt Lawrie (guitar/vocals), Trevor Potts (vocals/guitar), and Chris MacLeod (guitar), all from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, were starting something huge. Trev, Matt, and Chris jammed a few days and nights in a row... it all seemed like one long session... enjoyed a few cocktails, created some music, and laughed their brains out. Derek Desa (percussion), shows up after a Wax Philisophic concert with his drum and jumps in the circle. Derek lobbed an offer into Chris, Trev, and Matt to open their next show, a mere two weeks away... Easy lay-in.

Last Night was born.

Since then the band has been completed, adding Mr. (Brent) Jones (bass) in April of 2006. The band enjoyed numerous successful shows with Wax Philisophic and Dubsie's Band, played to 1000+ in attendance at Thunder Bay's Canada Day celebration and was chosen to open up a show for, none other than Glass Tiger. The summer of 2006 kept the band busy with a regular gig at Tony and Adam's restaurant in Thunder Bay (thanks Adam!) while recording their now available CD, appropriately entitled, 7TRACKS. The show for the kids at Camp Quality also stands out as a highlight.

The much anticipated CD is currently available! Check it out online and start rockin' right away. On the upcoming album look for pop grooves like That Guy, and Sun Came Out to make you bob your head and put a smile on your face. There are more heartfelt songs for lyric lovers such as soldier, Show Me Yours and forever young. And what is an album without a love song or two like Saving my Love for You, and Oh Miss Lee.

F.A.Q.'s

What Genre? What do you sound like?

I don't think any band will give you a straight answer for this these days.
But, we're acoustic/rock.
Catchy lyrics, hooks with thick guitar sounds, and multiple vocal harmonies give us a wide range to play with.

Who are your influences?

Dispatch, Sublime, Zeppelin, silverchair, Pennywise, Jack Johnson, KISS... (well only Chris listens or plays KISS, but he's still in the band) We love you Chris. Ya ya ya, it's a weird list, we know, but we'll listen to pretty much anything.
